Too Many Affiliates are Ruining TikTok Shop: A Hard Truth
So many affiliates are frustrated and tired right now, myself included. It is my firm belief that in an effort to feed their greed, TikTok's decision to allow so many people into the affiliate program early, has actually caused more harm than good. Don't get me wrong, I am happy that so many of us have the opportunity to make some life changing money, but hard truth, there are too many affiliates—too many well intended people who have no clue what they are doing and it is dragging the algorithm for the rest of us. And when I say 'for the rest of us,' I mean established accounts that are neither top tier nor bottom of the barrel, but somewhere in between. Pretty sure Mama Malina ain't suffering.
TikTok used to give new accounts a boost. Back in March, I made $1800 my first week on my main account, traffic was bussin.' My backup account that got access to the program last week with just 1155 followers, definitely no boost at. all.—my first week I made $47. These new affiliates don't know the power of the dark side. TikTok gave us that first free hit and turned us all into addicts, chasing that initial high when you could make $20K in a month without even trying. Now I see new affiliates going weeks...months without even their first sale. Yeah, things are most definitely different now and it is doubtful that we will ever pull the numbers like we did when TikTok Shop was still forming.
I really wish I had gotten in just a little bit sooner. Those beta affiliates will be raking in the money for as long as the TikTok platform remains here in the US. The rest of us will be scrambling to make our fat bag for as long as the algorithm, or the looming shut-down allows. Let's get to work.
