Where Does the Money Come From—Commissions

Someone asked me to share a breakdown of where the money comes from and which products are doing the best for me. This is an easy question to answer because there are two products that have done well for me, each with very different commission rates.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I started my TikTok Shop using a couple of products that I already had, one being wild yam cream. I get a 22% commission from every jar I sell and, to date, I have sold over 4K jars for The Ripple Effect Healing Arts. This is where most of my commissions have come from and to say that this wild yam cream has changed my life in more ways than one is an obvious understatement! I love the owner, Jamie and I believe in her products because I use them and they work for me.

The second product that has been very good to me has been the viral GenX t-shirt. I actually saw it on one of my other accounts and ordered it on a whim thinking it would be cute, and if I liked it I would put it in my TikTok Shop. The commission was only 5% (.75 per shirt), but I really wanted to support this small business. Literally loved the shirt and made a video on a Friday night, in like, two minutes, and the next morning I woke up to over $800 in sales and 280K views!! They had to shut their shop down because of all the orders. I've sold over 7K t-shirts for This Ole Thing and to date the video has hit 5.4M views! They are a great little company.

So, you see, it doesn't really matter the size of the commission. As long as you believe in the product you are selling and if your video does well, you will make money. Be authentic. Be one-hundred percent you when you are talking about your product—try not to be salesy. Tell a story, be relatable. Establishing that emotional connection with your audience is a key to success. Good luck! If you have any more questions, feel free to fire away and I will always do my best to answer them.

Peace 💗
