Are You Hitting the Wall, Still on the Starting Line or Somewhere In Between?

TikTok Shop giveth and TikTok Shop taketh away—that has been my experience anyway. I fall into the first category, I hit the wall hard. I don't think it's fatal, but man, it sure does hurt! I have tried to recover, tried everything the TikTok gods have said to try: I've changed up my content, I've used fewer hashtags, I've tried visual hooks and text on screen, I've used keywords in all the right places, posted when my audience is active and still my views and sales keep sliding into the abyss. I feel like Dr. Frankenstein waiting for lightning to strike and bring my money making monster back to life. Until then, I'll keep pulling the levers and flipping the switches and hope for the best.

All of this to appease the algorithm, the AI. I feel like that's who we're all working for. Ultimately it is into its hands that we place our creation and somehow it gets to decide whether or not our content is worthy enough of being pushed—200/500/1000/5000/10000—views are life on TikTok and once we hit post, it's out of our hands, and we do this day after day after day in the hope of going viral and making bank. And once you do, you're hooked. Be careful, there's no clocks or windows in here, and there's lots of sparkle and free samples.

Ummmm, I think a synapse was just connected and I may have had an epiphany. Oh, hell.
